Frequently Asked Questions

Short answers to common questions about Baseline Scan, compare behavior, platform support, and licensing.

FAQ 01

Is AuditWalk an antivirus replacement?

No. AuditWalk is a system integrity workflow tool. It establishes a trusted baseline, detects drift, and provides evidence-first outputs for review. It complements endpoint controls rather than replacing them.

FAQ 02

Does AuditWalk upload my system data?

AuditWalk is local-first by design. Scans, baselines, compares, and report generation run locally unless you explicitly move outputs elsewhere.

FAQ 03

Why separate scan and Baseline Scan?

A scan records state. Baseline Scan is the operator trust action. Keeping those separate prevents accidental trust assignment and preserves a clear audit boundary.

scan run        -> capture state
baseline set --scan-id <scan_id> -> operator trust decision

FAQ 04

What is the difference between preflight and compare?

preflight is a fast, targeted verification against confirmed baseline scopes. compare is the full drift diff across monitored scope.

preflight run --scope browser,system
compare run

FAQ 05

What platforms are currently supported?

Linux CLI is available now. macOS and Windows CLI are planned after Linux stabilization.

FAQ 06

Is the desktop GUI available now?

Not yet. Desktop GUI, dock tool, and mobile companion are in active development and follow the same trust workflow used in the CLI.

FAQ 07

Do active licenses include future GUI updates?

Yes. Current active licenses include planned GUI/dock/mobile releases when they ship, with no separate product tier required for those surfaces.

FAQ 08

Where should I send support and business inquiries?

Use mailbox routing by intent:

help@auditwalk.com -> support + security disclosure
info@auditwalk.com -> general + media + partnerships
